1 Samuel 2:22 says; That Eli was a leader of God's people and he had sons who were fornicating and committing adultery with the women that used to come to attend his church services and also the scripture says;
that Eli heard about the wicked stories of how his sons were misbehaving, and yet he still did nothing about it.
Now, my question is; Why was Eli so slack in rebuking his sons?
You have got to understand that Eli was a spiritual leader that was supposed to defend , to protect and to bring forth spiritual character and godly fear in those that he was leading.
The scripture says; that Eli's sons were committing adultery with the people that were supposed to acknowledge Eli as a spiritual leader,
This simply means that Eli had lost control over the spiritual realm as a leader, he could no longer take authority over the demonic influence that were attacking his sons and church members.
When the church members starts to have sexual affairs with each other, and the church leaders being possessed by a strong desire of uncontrollable sexual lust, that leads them into sexual immorality and committing adultery,
where relationships of girlfriends and boyfriends are secretly entertained, while married couples in the church are threatening to divorce each other, because of the interference of this demonic or negative environment that is taking place in the church.
This spiritually means that the head of that church or the leader of that congregation, fell into the sin of sexual immorality, and in so doing, this act of adultery brought him into the spiritual realm of giving birth to demons of sexual immorality.
Now, when these demons are brought into being through the act of sexual immorality, they then start to torment and influence his congregation, to an extent that even the words he speaks cannot affect or bring godly character (fear) in these people that he is leading, (the purpose of leadership becomes useless when a leader falls into sexual immorality).
1 Samuel 2:29-30; God prophecy's against Eli: Why are you honouring your demons that are influencing your sons more than me?
And the spirit of the Lord said unto me; son of man; many of my leaders have committed adultery and their vision is diverted from the truth.
They are preaching the doctrine of demons (materialistic, lovers of money, brood of vipers, bloodsucking preachers) and they have not even repented from their sins.
I am going to break their pride and castrate their hearts, and some I will completely disqualify and throw them away from My presence, because their judgement has come!
