Shabbat
By Apostle Ngabo
I have learnt something about life, that though we can make choices for our lives, but still God’s choices for our lives are still the best.
The scripture says in Hebrews 13:8 that Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the same yesterday, today and forever. The same Yeshua (Jesus) who came to the children of Israel and gave them the Shabbat (7th day) and commanded them to keep it holy, is the same Yeshua (Jesus) that came to us and said in Matthew 5:17 do not think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Our life on this earth must be revealing a fulfilment of those things that God calls holy. If the Shabbat (7th day) which is a Saturday is holy to God, Exodus 20:8-11, so we ought to conduct it as a holy day to fulfil His words that are written in the Old testament.
The Spirit of the Lord has revealed to us the curse of Adam that came from the garden in Eden where Adam deliberately chose to defile the Sabbath instead of keeping it holy.
The scripture says in Genesis 3:8-9 that Yeshua (Jesus) came to fellowship with Adam in the garden in Eden on the 7th day and Adam decided to hide behind the Christmas trees, oops! Sorry; I meant to say trees in Genesis 3:8.
Let me remind you this, that on the 7th day in the garden in Eden Adam brought his tithe and gave it to God, which was the fruits that were growing on the tree of knowledge of good and evil that God commanded him that he should not eat, and on that same day (7th day, Sabbath), Adam ate from the tree of life and drank from the fountain of life. In other words, he ate from the tree of life, which is Jesus and he drank from fountain of life which is the Holy Spirit, Genesis 2:9.
But then you will say to me, but apostle, can that be true???
Notice that Yeshua (Jesus) commands Moses to tell the children of Israel in Leviticus 23:3 says: six days work shall be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy convocation. You shall do no work on it. It is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.
God told Moses to tell the children of Israel that it’s a day of a holy convocation, meaning that it is a day of calling together a meeting for the purpose of relating with a holy God who commanded for the gathering through his prophet.
Genesis 2:3 says that God deposited His own nature (the power to bless, sanctify and rest) in with in the seventh day ….God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work on every 7th day which is a Saturday according to the Babylonian calendar.
We keep the Sabbath so that we may draw from the blessing of life that God invoked in within the 7th day.
